Orangnya ramah, asik, dan gampang ketawa jadi suasana selama trip tetap fun! Om Pendy sebagai driver juga bagus banget bawa mobilnya. Aku selalu duduk di belakang dan meski perjalanan panjang, gak kerasa mual dan tetep bisa tidur hahaha…

This was my first trip with Local Escape, and it was truly eye-opening. From the exceptional service to the insightful itinerary, comfortable accommodations, and a perfectly-sized group—not overcrowded like other open trips—everything was thoughtfully planned.

It has become a core memory for me, filled with joy and unforgettable moments. I absolutely loved the guide; Mas Wahyu’s vibe—always providing briefings, sharing stories behind the places we visited, and cracking jokes that kept the group laughing. And how could I forget Om Pendi “Toretto”? His driving skills were impeccable—calm, smooth, and safe, making the road trip so comfortable that we could truly rest.

And the food? Oh my goodness, every meal was phenomenal—each one was a hit!

I genuinely appreciate how thoughtful and well-organized Local Escape was, from arranging the itinerary to ensuring the best food, accommodations, and overall experience.

A special note: I couldn’t swim before this trip, but thanks to the patience and encouragement of Mas Wahyu and the local guide at Menjangan, I not only learned to swim but also able to freediving!

Superb! well executed, overall excellent. The thing I love most is the attention to details:
1. Homestay provided after long trip for train which highly appreciated, offered to eat indomie in warung and it’s included in the trip was WAY BEYOND my expectation!

2. there’s no ‘strict’ limit on the FOOD! please keep it up – one of the differences between other competitions

3. Guide. The tour guide was exceptional, words can’t describe it. Highly knowledgeable and super chill – like a local ‘friends’.

This was my second time traveling with Local Escape.

I like the extensive itinerary that includes all kind of activities and experiences for me. All of the spots I went to were perfect to fully get to know what’s in East Java. Going to several National Park also helps to understand the cultural and preservation of the area. Foods during the trips are impeccable. I was able to try local restaurants and foods in variety price point. I spotted a lot of animals in this trip more than I have ever seen in my life. Less people that joined the trip made it more organized.

The guide book of this trip made it easier for me to prepare for what lies ahead before my trip. Briefing in each morning or before each activities, helped to prepare me too.

Highest appreciation for the tour guide. He is attentive, helpful, willing to go extra miles for us. He’s energetic and joyful to be around. The guide as a representation of Local Escape, created such a pleasant environment & impact. He helped to create an enjoyable atmosphere in order for us to fully relax & immerse on our holiday. He took such a great picture too so that after the trip we got a nice memory to look at to. He is an asset to the business.

Overall, after this I will surely recommend this particular Overland East Java trip because of the scenery, itinerary, experience (cultural, conservation, beaches, sea, other scenery), food!!!, and everything else that comes with this trip as it is one of the most memorable and one of the best trip I’ve been to this year.

So much fun! We did not expect that five national parks and a geopark could be combined within less than a week! We enjoyed the active itineraries so much and appreciate the diversity of the activities, from hiking and snorkeling to short treks, above the clouds and below sea level. This is our third time joining, and as always, we got great travel mates. But shout out to this particular group—everyone was so on time and considerate with each other. Wahyu is not a tour leader; he is a friend instead. Loved his vibe from the very first meeting, and throughout the journey, he kept being fun. Please buy him any concert ticket he prefers. Similar to our second trip, this third one had adjustments to the destinations, but we were well-informed, so it didn’t really matter; we enjoyed the trip anyway. Also, shoutout to the accommodation selection—all were very comfy. And shoutout to Mas Fandy for his amazing driving skills. Dom Toretto would bow down to him.

Jadwal trip nya padat namun menyenangkan, jadi walaupun kurang tidur dan capek tetap bikin senang. Tour guide sangat informatif dan asik diajak ngobrol, pengetahuan tentang tempat-tempat trip nya juga informatif. Menu makan 3x sehari semua the best, enak semua untuk disantap.

I was impressed by how thoughtfully the travel program was designed. It caters perfectly to those who enjoy exploring less-traveled destinations with unique charm. Even when we visited popular attractions, the schedule was carefully planned to allow us to experience the sites before the large crowds arrived. The service was warm and attentive, with every crew member dedicated to ensuring our comfort and safety throughout the journey. I particularly appreciated the team’s approach to decision-making; any changes to the itinerary were clearly communicated, and they made sure everyone was on board. They offered helpful suggestions but ultimately respected the participants’ choices, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

This was also my second trip with LE, and I’m already looking forward to my next one—I can’t wait! With such incredible reviews and well-crafted itineraries, I can see my savings taking a hit next year because I’ll definitely want to experience more of your tours. You guys are awesome!

the local escape team’s services are exceptional, however we are very sad that many of the planned activities were not being met. We were such an unfortunate group of peeps as we experienced heavy rainfall in de Djawatan Forest (almost soaked from head to toe!), didn’t see the turtle laying eggs in Sukamade, have to track and hike to get to Green bay beach (which was actually ok, but it drained our energy and the speed boat ride would have an amazing view), the Ijen crater was closed and we can’t track or see the blue fire, no panoramic pics of Tumpak Sewu because it was misty~, and last but not least, no sunrise in Bromo’s penanjakan site because it was awfully packed in the weekend.

The trip to Alas Purwo, Baluran, and Menjangan was great and it could be improved if we have a binocular to better see the wildlife. Most circumstances are external and I don’t think we can do anything about it, but it decreases the value for money as those experiences are heavily advertised (it didn’t help seeing local escape’s instagram in the past few days sharing how the other groups managed to see the turtle laying eggs and went to Ijen crater! (yes…. jealousy, turning saints into the sea~). but overall, I’m glad I joined this trip..the guide and driver is incredibly helpful and attentive, the group of people we’re travelling with are nice, fun, and we clicked right away (might be from all the bad luck we had :p), the vendors (drivers, accommodations, local guides, all the restaurant we visited) were giving their best hospitality and the best stories about each places. I think this could be the selling point for Local Escape team too, as the tourist attraction might not work out like we’ve had :_____(

Guide and driver are superb

The Overland National Parks is my second trip with Local Escape (the first was Ujung Kulon during May 2023). I would say this would be one of my most memorable trips I will ever have in my 20s. Ever since Local Escape announced this trip package, I knew I had to go as it has the most complete “must-go” destination list of East Java. It did not disappoint at all.

There were times I could not believe that this is the world we live in, from stargazing under the clear skies in Sukamade Beach waiting to watch the turtles lay their eggs, to the dancing blue fires in Ijen Crater (can’t forget the view when it’s bright out, being at the peak felt like I was in a movie scene from “The Lord of the Rings”), and also the unimaginable view you get from the lodge in Bromo. Not only were the views great, our tour guides were the most accommodating, friendly, and fun – essentially the best guides we could ever ask for.

They had the best stories, about each destinations, their struggles in putting together these amazing trip, and really prioritized the group’s authentic experience of East Java. Special shoutout to the group of people who signed up for this trip. Never would I have thought a group of strangers could click so well in such a short amount of time. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone with an adventurous heart, the memories you’ll make with Local Escape is definitely something not to be missed. (p.s. all the food selections was really great too)

I love the services I love the guide I love love the food. thank you, LE for being so strict (most of the days) about jam makan thank you to the guide for answering questions about what will we eat next, thank you for the jokes for the laugh. thank you to the driver for the master act in driving. thank you to the photographer and facilitator for the companionship, for the pictures and video.

semuanya terjadwal, sesuai itinerary dan penjelasan sangat jelas dari segala sisi kita ga clueless sama sekali! the guide juga sangat seru dan lucuu, we feel so safe with and around them. even the driver itu lucu dan baik bgt juga HAHA makanannya juga surprisingly enak2 dan bervariasi! happy! belum lagi foto2 yang baguuus bgt setelahnya ???? huhu thankyou locale escape!
